I must be emo

Dress: Far East Plaza (Similar here)
Belt: came with dress (Similar here)
Itchy itchy scratchy scratchy
Earrings: Vintage hand me downs (Similar here)
Ring: Lovisa (Similar here) | Bag: Gracious Aires
Shoes: Ravel (Similar-ish here)
Looking a little funereal today because I had a full day of presentations and I wanted to come across as a serious business person. This probably didn't really work all that well since most of the people involved in the meetings already know me. There was a time when I was predominantly wearing black but that really feels like ages ago. I think I really wanted to be seen as some emo goth chick with an attitude problem. Anyway, A for effort but zzz because I miss crazy loud patterns and colours. You can only imagine how I'm going to bounce back. Total colour spaz out expected. Get ready to be blinded.

Keeping it short today because those meetings pretty much drained the life out of me. But thanks for reading, hope you're not feeling like an emo goth.Cheer up, tomorrow's Friday!

Stars

Dress: Far East Plaza (Similar here)
Star in waiting
Earrings: Chinatown (Similar here) | Sunglasses: Dior (Similar here)
Bag: Gracious Aires | Ring: Jessica Buurman
Shoes: Pedder Red (Similar here)
I have this weird thing about stars. As a kid, I collected paper stars and star shaped stickers. I once even forced CC to write 'star in waiting' on my chair because I guess I wanted to be famous or I wanted to become a big ball of gas. Hard to say really. I'm probably closer to being the second one.

Anyway, even as an adult, I gravitate towards star shapes which is probably not very grown up looking but growing up sucks so I think I'm going to avoid that.

While I've come around to the fact that I'm never going to be the next Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy was my jam), I think there's still a part of me that wouldn't mind the attention. So you know, if you see me, please fawn over me. It'll make a little kid's dream come true.

Thanks for reading!

Cape-blazer crusader

Cape blazer: Nasty Gal
Top: Banana Republic (Similar here) | Pants: Calvin Klein (Similar here)
Cuff bracelet: Old (Similar here) | Ring: Lovisa (Similar here)
Bag: Gracious Aires | Shoes: London Rebel
Earrings: Chinatown (Similar here)
I've been waiting for a day when the Singapore weather goes from Lucifer's raging inferno in the deepest corner of hell to Smaug's mouth after a burp, so that I can wear this awesome cape-blazer (Clazer? Blape?) because I honestly believe that my internal core temperature is higher than the average which leaves me feeling that an ice bath is the solution to all my problems most days. Can't find my pen? ICE BATH BABY.

While being quite enamoured of this crisp white clazer blape thing, I have to say that wearing all white can be such a pain in the wazoo. It basically means no laksa for lunch, always cap my pens immediately after use, drink coffee slowly through a straw, try not to snort while laughing... The list goes on forever. I've got some mad first world problems going on right here.

And don't get me started on the creases. I only looked crisp for maybe 10 minutes, after which my valiant efforts to look like Claire Underwood turned into an abysmal failure and instead I looked like a discarded piece of paper.
The dream: power suit fierce
The reality: me
So I guess the point of my whole ramble is... I may have forgotten to take my meds. Thanks for reading!

Once again, I feel like my brain is in deep space caused by the orbiting of the planet Weekendisuponus around the galaxy of the lazy bones, so this post probably isn't probably going to be fairly stupid. Consider yourself warned.

I've been a little bit irked today which got me thinking about the various things that irk me. The more I write 'irk' the funnier it looks to me.

I like these horizontal striped pants a lot, but over the course of the day, the sad-sack cotton material started stretching out which made it look baggy and ill-fitting. Fashion irk numero uno: Ill-fitting clothes.

Fashion irk number two: why must the scarf move about when I walk around, am I so jiggly that it can't stay put?? I'm not exactly doing aerobics here.

The last irk (for today) is shopping regret. There was a silky white printed top from Banana Republic that would have looked awesome with these pants and there was only a slightly larger size left and the boo was all nag nag don't buy things that aren't your size nag nag nag so I didn't buy it but now Major Regret has come to visit with General Whydidn'tyoujustgetitalteredyoudummy.

Thanks for reading, hope you aren't suffering from any of the irks. Irk irk irk irk irk irk. Wheeeee!

Tutu legit, tutu legit to quit

Ballet has always been so appealing - the graceful yet powerful movements, its evocative nature, the costumes, and would you believe those leg muscles right??

As much as I yearned to study ballet, being a timid and rather strange kid, I couldn't bring myself to participate in such a social activity (when I was younger, any activity involving more than one person was considered social and therefore, extremely scary), so I missed out on some major tutu action.

Today I got some of that much yearned for tutu action and it was SUPER. I was practically twirling around the office.I don't recommend doing this in the pantry, especially when people have hot cups of coffee and tea. Or in the bathroom when people are pooping because that's nasty. Or during important business meetings because then you get yelled at.

Thanks for reading! Twirl away!

Sorry for the quality of the pictures, they were taken on my balcony because it's been raining nonstop. Anyhoodle... I've run out of words (GASP not possible!) so I'll speak in pictures today.

Call a spade a spade

Top: Kate Spade
Skirt: ASOS
My legs look deceivingly muscular right??
Clutch: Kate Spade (Similar here) | Ring: Gift (Similar here)
Shoes: Rebecca Sanver (Similar-ish here)
So the Kate Spade Saturday shop had a launch event and my friend had an invite and asked if I'd like to attend. I immediately asked her, 'will there be sales?' She told me that it seemed to be more of a drinking-champagne-while-mingling kinda thing and since I am sometimes allergic to crowds and also because I was dressed like a cowpat, I decided I'd give it a miss.

Today's outfit was inspired by the event, I suppose this might have been what I would have worn had I been prepared to go and wasn't having such a turd of a day (I had gotten a speeding ticket and demerit points and had been disappointed by the fact that I clocked a crap time for my Great Eastern Women's Run).

But let's face it, the champagne-mingling wouldn't have been enough but I totally would have gone if they had big signs saying "SALE SALE EVERYTHING MUST GO" because I'm a bargain-hunting aunty.

Thanks for reading! Hope you don't feel like a turd.

Who are you calling old?

Top and skirt set: Sheinside
Shoes: Velvet
Bag: Prada (Similar here)
Earrings: Diva (Similar here)
Ring: House of Harlow (Similar here)
I elicited a range of comments in this outfit. Most of them were along the lines of 'retro', 'vintage', '70's inspired'. Obviously, being a draaaaaamaaaaa queen, what I heard was 'you look old'. At this point, my big uh-0 is sneaking up on me and while I desperately cling to the last vestiges of my youth, I am super sensitive about aging. You can bet that I ain't wearing this for a while.

Nonetheless, I was overjoyed by fact that my shoes and the skirt and top set are an exact colour match. It's the small things that count, people.

Thanks for reading, I'm turning 20 if anyone asks.

Yumi tummy

Ring: Flea market (Same here)
Once upon a time, there was a princess who enjoyed wearing button down dresses. However, as the day went on, inevitably, the girl would move around, and the spaces between the buttons would occasionally not sit as flatly and so, her stomach and chest would sometimes be 'open for business'. She would spend her days fidgeting and pulling at the seams, to ensure the garment lay flat and closed. However, no matter how hard she tried, she could not succeed. She was embarrassed and grew despondent. She retreated to her castle, vowing to burn her button down dresses and refused to come out.

One day, a knight in shining armour (by the way, this is a female knight, kinda like Brienne of Tarth but not so tall) came to her rescue. This knight told her that all she needed to do was to sew press studs in between those spaces and clip them shut and she would be boobs-ahoy no longer. The girl began sewing press studs for all her button down dresses (erm, new ones, cos she burned the old ones), and she emerged from behind her castle walls adorned in her new button down dress with no less than 10 press studs in between.

The townsfolk rejoiced and the princess renamed the village 'hot studs' and everyone lived happily ever after. The end.

The moral of the story is that the females in my life are awesome at sharing tips with me to make me less of a fashion tragedy. Thanks ladies! Thanks for reading everybody.
